The Nectar Canberra office hosted their first-ever Barefoot Bowls Tournament on October 26th, as a fundraiser for our charity partner, Children’s Cancer Institute. There was a great turnout and the weather came to the party too, setting the event up perfectly for what was a highly enjoyable afternoon at the RUC bowling green in Turner, ACT.
The team had set a fundraising target of $3,000 for the first edition of this event, but the day greatly exceeded expectations, with the amount raised totaling over $4,000 – a resounding success! This money will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Institute and used to fund their critical research to make childhood cancer a thing of the past.
A huge thank you is due to the event’s generous sponsors; Daniel Fochesato of Anne Street Partners, LJ Hooker Herbert Group, PLAN Australia and Harvey Norman Commercial – Mitchell for their support, as well as everyone who contributed by purchasing tickets and making donations on the day.
Regional manager Scott Cameron said, “It was great to see so many people turn out on the day to support a great cause and absolutely smash our fundraising target”.
Nectar is proud to support Children’s Cancer Institute, the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to putting an end to childhood cancer. You can find out more about the amazing work they do by clicking here.
